After nearly a decade developing the work presented on this website, I began experimenting with ChatGPT in January 2026, initially out of curiosity. The images on this page grew out of a collection of early 1970s romance comics published by Charlton Comics that I purchased in an antique store in 2023. I was drawn to the immediacy of their bold flat colors and heavy black outlines, even as I was repulsed by the toxic masculinity reflected in their stories.

These works are not created through simple prompts. The process involves feeding the system reference material, generating countless failed images, digitally compositing multiple outputs, and spending 20–25 hours refining instructions before extensively reworking the printed results by hand using traditional two-dimensional materials. I came to view this process as an extension of the collage-based practice I have explored since the 1980s, while also marking a distinct visual departure from the rest of my work.
