After nearly a decade developing the work on this website, I began experimenting with ChatGPT in January 2026. The images on this page grew out of a lot of early 1970s romance comics published by Charlton Comics that I purchased in an antique store in 2023. I feel influences by the immediacy of their bold flat colors and heavy black outlines, even as the imagery reflected toxic ideas of masculinity.

These works are not created through simple prompts. The process involves feeding the system reference material, generating failed images, and spending 20–25 hours refining instructions before extensively reworking the printed images by hand with traditional 2D materials.

While deeply skeptical of Ai, I came to see this process as an extension of the collage-based practice I have explored since the 1980s, while also marking a distinct visual departure from the rest of my work.
